Umineko Game Jam - World End Domination

A few months ago I stumbled across the Umineko Game Jam on I wasn't entirely sure if I'd have enough time to create a full entry, but ultimately I decided to give it a shot anyway (no pun intended). Fitting that the first game jam we officialy submit an entry for is an Umineko-themed one!

Ever since making my Umineko First Twilight 3D video I've been wanting to re-create the famous Rosa vs. Goats scene in 3D as well, because it is my favorite scene in the e ...

Summer Progress Report

Well, it's that time of year again. Summer is nearing its end, and since the last update was near the beginning of summer -- exactly three months ago -- it's about time for another one. And there is thankfully a lot of progress to be reporting.

This is our first update since the Steam release of Detective Butler on Steam. It's been amazing seeing so many people all around the world enjoy the game. Tens of thousands of people have played it and by the time this post ...

Detective Butler 1 Released on Steam!

Finally, it's here -- Detective Butler: Maiden Voyage Murder has been released on Steam!

Steam Store Page

Thank you all so much for voting for our game. This would not have happened without your support!

In the coming weeks, we would like to release a playable demo for the sequel. Stay tuned for updates, and have fun!

Introducing Seacats Mobile

Firstly, I'd like to start this off by announcing that, after five weeks on Steam Greenlight, Detective Butler: Maiden Voyage Murder has been greenlit! Thank you all so much -- we couldn't have done this without your support! As the game is already complete, I will be doing my best to quickly publish it on Steam. I don't think it will take very long, but I will be going through the game several more times to check for any potential problems.

Aside from that, I want to mention a new ...

New Year, New Update

Welcome back! It's 2017 and we've been up to a lot of things behind the scenes. During the past few months, we've been working diligently on both Detective Butler 2 and Witch Doctor Kaneko. Let's start with talking about Kaneko first.

In order to get both games out in a timely manner, we've been focusing on Kaneko during the latter half of each month. Mostly dealing with programming as well as sprites and tile sets. I have to say that it's been a very fun experience learning how to co ...

Goldbar Game Jam 2 - Werewolf

Now I do realize that our last Goldbar Game Jam took place nearly a year ago, but I still believe we should keep up with this because it's a great opportunity to publish short and simple games. This game, Werewolf, was actually the game we worked on for Ludum Dare 33 (and went unfinished, again) which I happened to bring up in the previous GG Jam blog entry. I suppose it's finally time we released this thing, as I took the last few hours to put it into a slightly more polished state.

DB2 - To-Do List

We have two great announcements. Firstly, if you haven't noticed, we updated the look of the website a few days ago. Secondly, the prototype for Detective Butler 2 is now officially bug-free! Let's go into some details about what remains to be added in.

  1. In-game download counter. With this, we'll be able to keep track of how often each time a chapter has been played. Mostly just useful for us, but this can get quite tricky to code if you don't know what you're doing.
